Bumps, Babes and Beyond

Bumps, Babes and Beyond is a FREE information session about how to exercise safely while pregnant and for a period after giving birth. Exercising while you’re pregnant has many benefits that can not only make it easier for you to get through your pregnancy, but also through labour and post-pregnancy recovery.

The pregnancy duration brings with it many changes that includes how your body responds to exercise. Some things you should be aware of are:

  • that ligaments soften and therefore your chance of injury increases
  • that there is a change in your centre of gravity due to weight gain.
  • that your resting heart rate changes

Whether you’ve been exercising regularly pre-pregnancy or you’re just starting, it’s really important that you exercise safely.  Being cautious also applies after giving birth to give your body a chance to return to it’s pre-pregnancy shape.

2nd February, 18th May, 31st August, 14th December.
