Clinical Pilates

Benefits of Clinical Pilates/Exercise at Hoppers Physio

What is Clinical Pilates/Exercise?

Clinical Pilates is a form of exercise and strengthening that uses Pilates equipment to address your rehab/injury/exercise goals. Qualified physiotherapists and other allied health professionals who have completed additional training in Pilates delivery alongside their qualifications run our Clinical Pilates sessions.

What can Clinical Pilates/Exercise Help With?

Clinical Pilates is not just for core strengthening; programs include core-based exercises alongside exercises that target the whole body and incorporate weights, balance or single-leg activities to challenge the individual based on current exercise/fitness levels. It is a low-impact exercise and can be modified for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions to ensure no flare in symptoms. The reformers and trapeze table that we use are spring-loaded, not weights, for ease of use and to get muscle groups to work on stability and endurance.

At Hoppers Physio, we have two streams of Clinical Pilates;

Semi-Private Classes

    • Individual programs tailored to your current injuries or previous history of injuries
    • Small Classes up to 5 people
    • Physiotherapy led to monitoring technique
    • Multiple classes per week
    • You can tailor it for pregnancy or post-natal return to exercise.

Group Classes

  • Circuit based exercise
  • Small classes with up to 8 participants
  • Small modifications based on previous history
  • Physiotherapy-led, ensuring safe techniques and appropriate exercise
  • Better for those in the maintenance phases of injuries or those conditions that are stable

Want to know more?

If you are interested in any of our classes, have a chat with your treating physiotherapist or our friendly team to see which class would be most appropriate for you. You need to have an assessment with a physiotherapist with Pilates training, then potentially some one-on-one exercise sessions. This is to develop your program and learn the equipment before entering our classes.
